The full title of this awesome book is, 52 Ways to Live a Kick-Ass Life: BS-Free Wisdom to Ignite Your Inner Badass and Live the Life You Deserve by Andrea Owen. Yes, it’s as fabulous as the tile suggest. I came across this book through a blog post from Kate Northurp. I decided to give the e-book a try because well, I wouldn’t mind leading a kick-ass life. I’ve been reading the book for a couple of weeks now and I’m 75% of the way through it. I’ve been trying to read a chapter here and there during my free time but my almost kick-ass life keeps getting in the way. Needless to say every time I pick it up I’m hit with a surge of motivation and the realization that self-knowledge is a bit scary. Andrea is not kidding around! The wisdom is quite BS-Free. With chapters such as loving yourself is the new black, Dump the friends you’ve outgrown and Quit Bitching and Moaning you are sure to have some real honest conversations with yourself about yourself. If you’ve read this book already please share your thoughts. I would love to hear what you think. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading it yet I suggest you give it a try. You know what Phil Jackson says, “Self-Knowledge is the best Knowledge”. Happy Reading Everyone!…xoxo Typhanie

The new issue of Adore Home Magazine is now Live. Make sure to check out the new design trends on page 16. Also, there is a great home tour on page 106 that all space lovers should read. I love the mix of artwork, IKEA items and vintage pieces the designer uses to make a modern chic space. I also love the pops of color I’m seeing in magazines as the summer months draw closer….Happy Reading Everyone!

Designers at Home, forward by Martha Stewart, takes readers inside the houses of renowned designers who share their thoughts on gracious living and how they bring their professional philosophies home. I’m looking forward to picking up this book when I get home. Hopefully I can get it signed by Ronda when I run into her at Design Camp Seattle…Happy Reading Everyone!
This weekend I’m going to curl up with the new book “Magni Modernism” by James Magni. I had the pleasure of hearing him speak this past week during Westweek at the Thomas Lavin showroom. It was a very inspiring conversation between James and Mayer Rus, the West Coast Editor of Architectural Digest. James’ views on light, art and design are something I want to cultivate in my own life. As a designer it is always an honor to meet a fellow designer who infuses you with such inspiration. That is why I’m looking forward to reading his book from cover to cover this weekend… Happy Reading Everyone!
