The Breakfast Room

broom

With the Urban world growing so fast I didn’t know things like “The Breakfast Room” still existed. To be really honest I thought Starbucks was everyone’s breakfast room. With my current fast pace lifestyle it’s sad to say something like this beautiful room would be wasted. This space deserves more than just a fiber one bar and five cups of coffee. It deserves to have a full spread. Eggs, bacon, toast and even pancakes. But who has time for a breakfast room? Do you?…Happy Decorating Everyone!

Kitchen Envy

My love of white kitchens seem to be growing. The combination of brass fixtures and hints of blush in this design has me once again rethinking my stance on white kitchens. The dining room is also very glam. Though I’m not sure why they have an orange tree in it. The 1970′s Lucite stools are to die for, don’t you think? Every piece in this kitchen give it a elegant art deco feel. And which girl doesn’t want to cook in a glam kitchen. This space screams high price tag so if you are trying to recreate the look/feel on a budget I would start with the hardware. This knob, pull, and more pulls by Martha Stewart is a great place to start…Happy Decorating Everyone!

The Holiday House

The November-December issue of Traditional Home Magazine is all about the Holidays. On page 22 you can find a wonderful read about the Holiday House which celebrates the best in interior design and holiday entertaining while supporting the fight against breast cancer. The sixth annual showhouse  will be open in New York from November 21st through December 18th. Wish I were in New York to check it out because there are some beautifully designed rooms as you can see from the pictures below. Tobi Fairley’s “Spring Forward” sitting room is my favorite. Something about pink that always makes me smile. Which room is your favorite? …Happy Decorating Everyone!

Walking With BlogTour LA

20131016-105201.jpg

20131016-105201.jpgA couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of going on a walking tour of the legendary La Cienega Design Quarter in Los Angeles with Modenus BlogTourLA. The tour was guided by two of LA’s top designers/bloggers Christian May of Maison21 and Jill Seidner of Material Girls. I’ve been to the LCDQ many times but it was refreshing to get up close and personal with a hand full of showrooms.

Before the tour we had were invited to have brunch at the Walker-Zanger showroom hosted by Architectural Digest. They gave us a sneak peek of the their new collection which is quite fabulous.

I fell for this awesome honeycomb tile and now I want to put it everywhere.

Our first stop on the tour was at Mansour to learn more about their rugs and where they are from. I step on 100 year old rug and felt very uncomfortable. But then I saw this hide and all was right with the world again.

We the went to Mecox Gardens. If you ever visit LA for a shopping trip this is a must stop by store. Lots of great items to survey. They even served us tacos and margaritas which makes any Californians day.

Of course no tour of LA would be complete without a stop at an Antique showroom so we made our way to Dragonette. They have everything from Antique furniture to antique jewelry. I would love to have a jewelry try on session there one day but I’m afraid I would never leave their store.

For our last stop we visited the showroom of Kelly Wearstler. It was a wonderful treat to talk to her and see how her firm operated. She took time to talk to the group at length which was a great learning experience. And there you have it. I have tons more pics that I will be uploading on our Facebook page later today. Let me know if you guys have any questions. Have a fab hump day!
