Apartment Facelift: Part Two

20131119-081729.jpg
As the Holidays draw closer I feel the need to get this Apartment Facelift completed in a rush. The truth is, any kind of redecorating done during this time of year is going to make you feel a pinch. Not necessarily time wise but money wise. To keep this redo from depleting my Christmas {and anniversary} budget I decided to source a few items through Craigslist. I love Craigslist and finding a great deal. The key getting a real bargain is to know what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend. That means no spending nilly willy on things just because they look good. Here are three items I found through Craigslist last week.

1. Dining/Office Table $20
I was looking for a table I could use as a work desk and a dining table. This 36″ round extendable table worked out great and it was only $20. I was thinking about painting it but the wood is growing on me. I love that if I need it to be smaller on days I’m not entertaining the option is there. I think this was my best score.

2. Flokati Rug $60
My hubby thinks this Flokati Rug is the best score of the week. It retails for a couple hundred so when we got a 5×8 for only $60 we were ecstatic. It adds great weight to our living room. And the texture just ushers in the cold weather season.

3. Mirror $15
I’ve had a long standing issue with the price of mirrors. I always try to find one at a thrift store of hotel surplus. Even at Ikea you are looking to drop at least $40 for a good size one. When I saw this beauty for only $15 I just had to get it. It is my new bedroom vanity mirror and looks fab against the the rich navy blue. Will post more pictures later.

I hope my finds on Craigslist has encouraged you to do some “out of the box” thinking when it comes to finding items on a budget. I know this goes without saying but please be extra careful when buying off sites like these. Look out for scammers and make sure to bring a friend when going to pick up items. Let me know if you have any questions and please feel free to leave a comment telling me how AWESOME my finds were…Happy Decorating Everyone!
